Color Protocol

The Color Protocol window allows you to define a color for any protocol supported in NetworkSmart. By using this feature; you can quickly analyze your data by looking at the color of a frame rather then the name of the protocol. The frames will be colored in the Decode panel as shown below.

Color Protocol Steps

  1. From the Decode panel, click the Protocol button on the Decode toolbar. The Color Protocol dialog will appear.
  2. Provide the abbreviated name of the protocol *
  3. Select a color for the defined protocol by clicking on the browse button […] to display the Color Picker.
  4. Once you have defined a protocol and its associated color, click the Add button to add it to your customized list.

Note:* The abbreviated name will be shown in the Traffic window or you may also view a list of NetworkSmart supported protocols.

When you have added a protocol to the customized list, click OK. NetworkSmart will automatically show the selected protocol using the colors that you have defined.

When changing the color of a protocol, NetworkSmart saves this customization information to your local configuration file and. Thus, only your local copy of NetworkSmart will show colored protocols. Only frames shown in the Traffic window will be colored. Files displayed in the Objects window will not reflect custom protocol colors.
